The Biggest Dirty Little Secret In Business

Today I shared with my staff an excerpt from a popular book titled, Winning by Jack Welch. The second chapter title is The Biggest Dirty Little Secret in Business. In case you don't know who Jack Welch is he was GE's 8th company chairman and CEO that during his tenure increased the market capitalization by $400 billion. He is "the man" when it comes to success in business. So what can we learn from him today? His biggest find was the concept of candor, or saying what you really mean. In business and really in life most people do not exercise candor. Most of us keep the real stuff to ourselves because we don't want to offend or rock the boat. He says he found that everything operates faster and better if we all exercise more candor. Try it.
