Can Chiropractic Help With Sensory Processing Disorder in Children?

This disorder has been something that has been coming up a lot in my office from a 3 year old that wouldn't wear shoes and socks because of sensitivity and he now does. To a 3 and a 4 year old that were constantly crashing into things and being real clumsy to now after chiropractic care are more stable and steady. We had a 4 year old that absolutely could not tolerate spinning in circles at all who now can spin almost limitless and the therapists are scratching their heads wondering what we are doing. We are seeing what I would consider as true miracles and kids' and parents' lives being changed.
The connection we are seeing is directly related to the spine and nervous system of these kids. We are finding that there is tension and strain in the spine and specifically in the upper cervical spine of these children and this is causing significant irritation and abnormal function of the nervous system and that shows up in the form of balance issues, irritability, sensitivities and other abnormal behaviors just to name a few. When we have located these abnormally functioning areas in the spine and begin to alleviate them we are seeing change for the positive. What a fun thing to be a part of.
